Millennium Stadium


The Millennium Stadium (Welsh: Stadiwm y Mileniwm), is the national stadium of Wales, located in the capital Cardiff, and is used primarily for rugby union and football home internationals. It was the largest Stadium in the United Kingdom with a capacity of 74,500, but relinquished this distinction when Old Trafford was expanded to 76,000 in 2006, and slipped down to third when the redevelopment of Twickenham was completed on 5th November 2006, then to fourth when Wembley Stadium was completed on the 9th March 2007. The Millennium Stadium is owned by Millennium Stadium plc which is a subsidiary company owned by the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU).
